Founded in 1968, The West Seattle Soccer Club (WSSC) is a all volunteer run recreational soccer club for youth who reside in the southwest neighborhoods of Seattle. What began over 50 years ago with 4 teams organized in a living room has grown to serve more than 2000 unique players each year and continues to grow.All youth ages 5-18 are eligible to play and experience is never required.
The WSSC is one of two recreational soccer clubs and one premier soccer club that make up the Highline Soccer Association (HSA). HSA is a member of Washington Youth Soccer (WYS) with is affiliated with the national organization, US Youth Soccer.
HSA's Recreational Soccer Clubs focus on making soccer as enjoyable as possible for the majority of players so that they not only improve their skills but develop a life-long love of the sport. Tryouts and skill grouping are not permitted at the recreational level of play. Players are assigned to teams with their friends, neighbors, and classmates based on their expressed preferences and past team assignments. All players in good standing receive a minimum of 50% playing time in games. Teams are led by volunteer coaches with varying levels of experience and training.
