UPDATE March 31st, 2020: As of this writing, we are hopeful to begin the HSA Spring Champions League Season on SUNDAY, MAY 3rd. Due the closing of school and park fields, it was not possible to begin play in April.
The West Seattle Soccer Club (WSSC) considers the safety of our players, coaches, volunteers and parents to be of the utmost importance. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) is having a tremendous impact on our community and the West Seattle Soccer Club endeavors to take every reasonable precaution to prevent further spread of COVID-19. As of this posting, MLS has suspended its season for 30 days, United States Youth Soccer has issued travel restrictions, and Washington Youth Soccer has suspended leagues through April 15th, see www.washingtonyouthsoccer.org/coronavirus.
Games for the HSA Spring Champions League do not start until April 19th and practices are always optional; WSSC does not reserve practice fields or venues in Spring. WSSC is taking steps to accomplish the Spring Coaches' Meeting and Annual General Meeting election online. While WSSC expects to be able to proceed with the Spring Season at this time, we will follow any applicable public health guidance.
Coaches, players and parents should follow the guidance from the King County Health Dept. (www.kingcounty.gov/depts/health) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) (www.cdc.gov/coronavirus).
