**THANK YOU ALL-STARS!**

An Open Letter to Glendora's 2019 All-Stars from Pony-14 Manager Bruce Hunt

I wanted to send out one last email to express my appreciation for the opportunity to coach your sons, to be involved with all of you and your wonderful families, and to let you know how exciting, nerve racking, and thrilling this past week has been for me and all the coaches. I’m sure you all can and will say the same thing, as we put you through 6 incredible baseball games. (I’d say the $5.00 admission was well worth it)!

I feel very fortunate and am humbled to be in the position to manage these boys. Having coaches Darron and Jack with me to remind me of all the things I could have forgotten during the intensity of these high action, high drama,  games was invaluable. I’m grateful for them and for all their time and efforts over the past two months as well.  I’ve learned over the years that you need coaching chemistry to have complete “team chemistry” . If and when you can achieve this, you have the opportunity to do something special. This team came together and did something very special last week. We beat teams who were most likely better than us on paper, but they did not have the heart or the fight that we manage to bring to each and every game  -  and they did not have the “it” factor (team chemistry).

We all put in a ton of time and effort into practicing, hitting and having BBQ’s and ice-cream socials just to keep these boys involved  together. Thank you for all your help in getting your boys to all the practices, batting cages, parties, and early morning field batting. Without you parents committing and buying in, your boys tend to miss out - and do not totally commit themselves. As you know, it all starts from the top down, so THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Thank you again – everyone!  I had the time of my life  -  You all have really great boys – who took one giant step this past week towards becoming good “young men”   -  as they experienced how to dig deep and how to compete and not give up until the last out is done! Many played injured and played through physical pain – which proved to be deal breakers for us.  I am still in awe as I reminisce over all the incredible plays, hits, and events that took place.  Absolutely awesome……
