2023 Glendora Fall Wood Bat League
2023 will mark the 14th year of our fall wood bat program. It is open to ALL high school students regardless of whether or not they play HS baseball. As always, this is a “Games Only” program which focuses on keeping the boys’ playing skills sharp while providing a positive and enjoyable playing environment. Towards that goal, we expect the boys to play well and respect the game of baseball, but we do NOT keep standings and the play-off champs will continue to take home pizzas as their winnings!!! We are changing the format in several ways this fall by prioritizing something new we added to our 2023 Summer Wood Bat program – we will focus one day a week on Skills run by Dave Cates. Skills will incorporate hitting and fielding and will really focus on improving the boys’ baseball skills. Also important, we will continue to make attendance a priority. We learned a lot during the summer session, so, this fall, a player will be permitted a total of FIVE excused absences or THREE unexcused absences. This pertains to games, not Skills’ sessions which are not mandatory. After three unexcused absences or five excused absences, a player will be automatically dropped from the program. “Excused” absences are parent-to-coach absences for specific reasons. “Unexcused” absences are player-to-coach “can’t make the game today” absences or no contact at all. This is a 14-game season (including a single elimination play-off tournament) plus skills clinics. As always, we will also elect one or more tournament teams for our end-of-season City of Hope Tournament(s)! We will also again host our annual Halloween costume and eating contests!

THE PROGRAM IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 52 PLAYERS WHO REGISTER
The program fee is $225 (includes team jersey) - league provides bats in dugouts for players who do not bring their own
