GAME COORDINATOR
Required for any game with a Youth Umpire where this is not an Adult Umpire present.
Adult who will be at the game for its entirety and is NOT a coach. In AAA/Majors, this can easily be achieved by asking the Scoreboard Operator to function in this role.
Must be present on the field for the pre-game manager/umpire meeting to meet the youth umpire(s).
Does not need to know the rules and is not functioning an umpire role, but does need to back up the umpire in that they (as the official umpire) know the rules and that whatever the stated the call is (whether it's accurate or not) is final - in the event that a manager/spectator is disrespectful etc.
Any questions regarding either of these roles should be directed to Tom Windall, [email protected] (UIC)
EXCEPTIONS:
In AA, if there is an adult field umpire present on the field (provided by the visiting team), no game coordinator is required.
If two umpires working a game are 16 years of age and older, no game coordinator is required.
