*NEW SPRING 2026*

Batting Helmet UPDATE: Starting Spring 2026, every team AA division and above will be provided with a batting helmet with an attached chin/jaw guard (“C-flap”). Families may buy their own NOCSAE-certified model if preferred (see below).

We are currently updating our batting helmet policy for all AA divisions and above, and expect to require these helmets beginning in Fall 2026.

Little League International allows helmets only if the jaw guard is built in or approved by the manufacturer. If your child already owns a helmet, you may purchase a manufacturer-approved chin flap attachment only if the helmet brand permits it. Please ensure it is a NOCSAE-certified model. Aftermarket, “universal fit,” or self-drilled guards are not allowed.

Concussion/Sudden Cardiac Arrest Protocol: DLL California Youth Sports Concussion Sudden Cardiac Arrest Policy-2.pdf

MD Note Requirement: If your child has to miss >7 days of baseball due to illness/injury (ex: mono, injury from recess/flag football, baseball injury, etc.), an MD note is required prior to their return to their first practice stating that they are "cleared to play baseball", and sent to [email protected]

We Need Volunteers!

Davis Little only runs with the help of volunteers! There are plenty of volunteer roles for people with any degree of baseball knowledge.  Check out the Volunteer Resources page to figure out how you can contribute.

What Gear Does My Child Need?

Players and families will get instructions about uniforms from the league and/or coaches at the beginning of the baseball season.  Here are some general guidelines and recommendations about the things players need to participate:

Uniforms:
Jersey (league covered; families must order)
Hat (league provided)
Baseball Pants (coach determines color; families purchase independently)
Sport Socks (coach determines color; families purchase independently)
Baseball Belt (coach determines color; families purchase independently)
Cleats (baseball or soccer cleats are fine - no metal)

Recommended Equipment:
Baseball Glove (recommended purchase for all players)
Baseball Helmet **SEE ABOVE BATTING HELMET UPDATE** (coach equipment bags at lower levels include a small number of helmets; recommended for kids in Farm division and up)

Optional Equipment
:
Baseball Bat (coach equipment bags include bats; optional purchase for young kids; recommended for older kids; bats must comply with the USABat standard)
Baseball Bag (handy, but not needed)

Extras:
Batting Gloves (younger kids easily lose or waste time with batting gloves; not recommended for younger players)
Catcher's Gear (coach equipment bags include catcher's gear for all levels; not recommended)
Catcher's Mitt (coach equipment bags include catcher's mitts for all levels; not recommended)

Note: we try to offer an annual gear swap prior to the start of spring season where families can pick up items they might need for the season - at NO cost!  Anyone can donate gear; anyone can take gear.  You do not need to donate to collect what you need.
