VOLUNTEERS MUST HAVE RMA CLEARANCE

Thank you for Coaching and/or Volunteering with the West Seattle Soccer Club. We are an all-volunteer organization that cannot provide the quality soccer experience that we do without you. You make it all possible.

For the safety of our players, all Coaches and/or Volunteers must register with WSSC and obtain a Risk Management Application (RMA) Clearance from Washington Youth Soccer. Please consult this guide: sports connect tutorial on background check.pdf You will be required to take 3 online courses on Concussions, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and SafeSport. The first two are relatively short (15 minutes). SafeSport can take 90 minutes. IT IS CRITICAL THAT YOU REGISTER UNDER YOUR LEGAL NAME. Here are the steps:

1. Go to our website: http://westseattlesoccer.org/
2. Click on My Account and log in. If your player was registered by a spouse/partner/guardian, you will need to create your own account. You must use your legal name.
3. Click on Volunteer from the list on the left, click on the division and position you are volunteering for and complete the registration. Then log out.
4. Log back in and repeat steps 1 and 2. You should now see a check box list for "Risk Status"
5. There are check boxes for "Concussion Certificate (Intro to Safety Course)", "Sudden Cardiac Arrest (Intro to Safety Course)" and "SafeSport Certificate".
6. By checking each of these three boxes and clicking Renew & Update, it will open to a box with a paragraph explaining the course and an upload button for your completion certificate
7. At the end of the explanatory paragraph is a link "Begin Training" that will take you to the US Soccer Learning Center
8. Create a US Soccer account. It must be your legal name and match with the Date of Birth and email that you used for WSSC.
9. Click on the button at the bottom of the US Soccer Learning Center homepage for “Coaching Education.” Then, on the upper banner left is “Courses,” then at the upper left is “Supplemental Courses” which opens to SafeSport and Intro to Safety as the top two choices.
10. Once you have completed the courses at the US Soccer Learning Center, the certificates will automatically upload to your registration if your legal name, DOB and email match.
11. Return to the Volunteer page of your My Account with WSSC, check "Risk Status" and click Renew & Update to complete your submission - it should now say "Pending"

ALL RMA CLEARANCES EXPIRE APRIL 30TH - SO UNLESS YOU COACHED IN SPRING YOU MUST RENEW
If you previously obtained an RMA Clearance for the Spring Season, your clearance is still good.

Once renewed, your RMA Clearance will be good until April 30th next year, so you won't have to renew in the Fall!
