Spring Soccer Registration opens 1/1/20 - 2/14/20 - Parent FAQs

Fall Soccer FAQs?

What age group do I sign up for?

Age is not a factor.  You sign up for your child's grade level. K=U6, 1st=U7 etc.  Some grades are combined U10 is 3rd and 4th and U12 is 5th and 6th.

When will we know the schedule?

The coaches for your age group will contact you during the week of 3/1 about evaluations/skills and practice nights.  The game schedule will be released between the 1st and 7th of March.  The first game will be 3/14 with no games on Easter or Spring Break weekends.  Some weekends you will have multiple games or games during the week.

Why do we have games during the week?

The league does it's best to source enough field space for all of the teams and games required.  Because we have some parishes or programs that are unable to play on Sunday or on we accommodate them by flexing the schedule into the week.

Do I need to buy a uniform if I already have one?

It depends.  Some programs are getting new uniforms this season which it will state in the registration process.  Some programs are using the same uniforms from a prior season.  In that case you only need to purchase if you need a new or larger size.

What if I cannot make the practice night?

For K-8th teams will usually have one practice a week set by the volunteer coach.  Families can and will have conflicts.  The volunteer coaches set the practice schedule however if you cannot attend your regular practice night with your team there may be another team practicing on another night that works.  In soccer we focus on skills and since we do not have "plays" practice is really just for the kids to get comfortable and improve ball skills.  Additionally we will have some skills sessions during the season which will help with skill development.

Do I need to buy cleats a ball and shin guards?

Yes shin guards are required and cleats are recommended.  If you need help with cleats we do have some used cleats and equipment that is available at some locations.  Having a correct size ball and bringing it to practice is a great idea. Pre-K/K Size 3
1st/2nd Size 3; 3rd/4th, and 5th/6th Grade Size 4, 7th/8th Size 5.

Can I request for my child to be with another child on a team?

Unfortunately we cannot accommodate Friend Requests.  The league requires us to evaluate teams and separate them based on grade, skill parity.  It would be impossible to pair everyone's team requests.

What if I decide later that we cannot play because of conflicts or other issues?

We offer a refund up until 3/15 minus a $10 credit card fee.  The refunds cannot be made to a credit card so a check will be mailed to the address we have on file within 10 days.

My child plays club soccer and school feeder team soccer?  I am concerned it might be too much.

No problem we have had plenty of kids in the program that played all 3.  There will be conflicts but as long as you can make at least 50% of the games during the season your child will be able to play in the tournament.  Once you get the schedule if you feel like you cannot make at least 50% of the games let us know and we will get you a refund (see above)

I don't want to get involved with club soccer but my child would like to play more games and practice more.  What do you recommend?

We recommend that you consider seeing if your child can "play up" in our program.  Depending on skill level it is ok for a 2nd grader to play with 3rd and 4th or for a 4th grader to play with 5th and 6th and so on.  As long as you make a priority for your regular team game we can find other opportunities (within the rules) for you to have more games.  You may also inquire about other practice opportunities or take advantage of some of our training partners which provide group lessons.
