Policy on Adding Emergency Players to Teams

From time to time, Travel teams may end up with only a few substitutes on the initial roster subsequent to team formation and release of rosters to coaches. In this situation, coaches can try to recruit "emergency" players. Emergency players are those who cannot commit fully to the team but may be available if the team is short players week to week due to rostered players not being available for a given game. It is expected that these players will play only a few (if any) games and as such the club will waive the registration fee. These players do, however, have to be registered for insurance purposes. Any emergency players will require the approval of the Registrar and the Program VP. For guidance this applies to teams with less than 2 substitutes for U10, 3 substitutes for U12, 4 substitutes for U14, For U16 teams and up, emergency players may be added up to the roster limit regardless of rostered substitutes. To be clear, emergency players may only be called upon by the coach IF a registered player is missing a given game.
