Policy For Use of Grafton Soccer Fields

The Grafton Soccer Club uses several different field locations for its games and practices. The club works with the town, the school administration and several private organizations to secure field space each season. The club actively maintains most of its fields at considerable expense to the club.

Other non-GSC teams and/or leagues periodically request the Grafton Soccer Club (GSC) for permission to use the GSC managed fields. In order to safeguard the conditions of the fields against overuse that would prevent the use of the fields by GSC teams should the overuse result in damage to the field, the GSC is enacting the following policy effective June 2003:

1.     Requests for use of the fields by other non-GSC teams representing Grafton (e.g. adult leagues) will be considered in exchange for a fee subject to annual approval by the GSC BOD. The GSC BOD reserves the right to review and/or change the fee as necessary as part of the approval process. The BOD also reserves the right to review team rosters to determine if the team includes sufficient Grafton residents to qualify it as a Grafton team.

2.     Requests for use of the fields by leagues in which the GSC participates will be considered if a majority of the GSC BOD agrees in advance on a case-by-case basis that this will be in the best interest of the GSC.

3.     Requests for use of the field by non-GSC teams and or leagues not representing the town of Grafton will not be honored unless approved by exception by a majority of the GSC BOD.
