Little League Baseball, Incorporated, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to promoting and supporting Little League Baseball and Softball. Since its founding in 1939 and the subsequent Federal Charter in 1964, Little League has focused on fostering citizenship, discipline, teamwork, and physical well-being in youth. With an emphasis on character, courage, and loyalty, the program aims to develop commendable citizens alongside athletic skills.
As a non-profit corporation registered with the Commonwealth of Virginia, Mason District Little League (MDLL) operates under the charter of Little League Baseball, Inc. Our program, steered by a board of directors and powered by volunteer efforts, provides a dynamic and safe environment for children to learn not only baseball but also vital life skills such as leadership, sportsmanship, and teamwork. The board is elected at our annual meeting each fall, which all league associates are encouraged to attend.
Parents and guardians play a crucial role in this experience, and we invite your active participation to make your child's involvement as enriching as possible. Our core values include having fun, skill improvement, promoting sportsmanship and safety, character building, deepening game appreciation, ensuring equity in sports, and fostering inclusion.
At MDLL, the spirit of volunteerism is paramount. Our league's success hinges on the diverse contributions of our volunteers, whose efforts range from highly visible to behind-the-scenes activities. Whether you have specific skills or simply a willingness to contribute, your involvement is vital. We believe in the power of collaboration among league administrators, managers, coaches, officials, and parents to create a positive environment.
We encourage everyone to recognize the value of volunteering. By contributing, in any capacity, you play a key part in enhancing MDLL for everyone involved.
