The Down East Currents is the Down East Girls Travel Ball (DEGTB) division of the Down East Girls Softball League (DEGSL).  The Down East Currents seek to provide a higher competitive level of play and emphasizes continued development of our recreational players. It is made available to young ladies with the talent and interest in challenging themselves at the next level of competition. The team(s)  exists in conjunction with DEGSL and seeks to support the growth and development of DEGSL. The Down East Currents promote work ethic, a team first mentality, and the power of competition - not only in the tournaments we compete in, but in how we conduct our lives.
 
The Down East Currents primarily compete in USSSA and Top Gun USA sanctioned events. We typically will kick off our fall season try outs in August with our fall travel season running from September through mid December.  Our spring travel season will run from mid April to the end of June. Each team will select their tournament schedule for the season.
 
As we are a division of the DEGSL, our tournament schedules will never conflict with DEGSL games or tournament schedules.  We require all of our players to register and play on a DEGSL team  during the spring recreation ball season.
