TEE BASEBALL (LEAGUE AGE 4-5)

Tee Ball Baseball is for boys and girls who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. Players hit a ball off a batting tee. Pitching is not allowed. Rules of the game are modified to to accommodate the need for teaching. The primary goals of Tee Ball are to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork. Games are played on a 50-foot diamond.

SEPLL offers Tee Ball for boys and girls who are League Age 4 and 5. Please use the League Age Chart to determine your child's League Age.

Contact Peter Neal at [email protected] if you have any questions about baseball

Team Formation

Tee ball teams have approximately 10 players. SEPLL does its best to create teams by grouping children according to their neighborhoods and schools. We will do our best to honor requests to play with friends or a specific coach, but we cannot make any guarantees.

Team Practice

Teams may begin practicing in about mid-March. Where and how often a team practices is up to the manager. Tee Ball teams generally practice about 1 to 2 times per week until the regular season begins in early April. After the regular season begins, Tee Ball teams generally do not have regular practices.

Team Games

Tee Ball teams play 2 games per week - one at 6:00 pm during the week and one on the weekend, usually Saturday, between 9 am and 5 pm. Games are scheduled from early April through mid-June. Games are usually played at Woodstock Elementary School, but may take place at other parks within the boundaries of SEPLL. In late March the official schedule will be published at www.sepll.org.

Fees

Please visit the Fees page for information on our current fees. Scholarships are available to families in need. Contact the Player Agent or Treasurer for information on scholarships.

Uniforms and Equipment

Each player will receive a team hat and shirt, which they may keep after the season. Players are encouraged to wear comfortable pants and shoes.

Players are encouraged to bring their own glove to practice and games. The League provides each team with bats, tees, balls and helmets. Players are also welcome to bring their own equipment to use.

Volunteering

Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to become involved in Little League to support league teams and players. After completing a Little League volunteer application and passing a required national background check, parents may become involved in practices, and be eligible as coaches, managers, umpires, local league board members and other volunteer positions within the league. Visit the Volunteers page to find out more about volunteering with SEPLL!
