West Covina American Little League (WCALL) is a volunteer-driven organization, relying on the support of parents and community members to help over 200 players and umpires each season. Parent involvement not only helps keep registration fees low, but also enriches the experience for the kids and strengthens our community.

Brief Overview of the Main Volunteer Roles:

> Manager: The head coach of a team responsible for overseeing practices, game strategies, and the overall development of players. The manager makes decisions during games and is the primary point of contact with parents and league officials. > Coach: Assists the manager with training, running practices, and guiding players during games. Coaches help develop the players’ skills and support the manager with game decisions and player management. For coaching inquiries, contact Coaching Coordinator, Tim Ousterhout at [email protected]

> Team Parent: A volunteer responsible for coordinating communication between the team’s parents and the manager. They often help organize team events, snacks, schedules, and any fundraising or social activities. Team Parents are usually selected by Managers, approved by Board, once teams are formed. > Board Member: A volunteer who helps oversee the operation of the Little League organization. Board members contribute to decision-making on league policies, fundraising, scheduling, and ensuring the league runs smoothly for the benefit of the players and families. Each role plays an essential part in creating a positive and organized Little League experience. Board Members are selected via election process during Closing Ceremonies in May, but, there may be open positions. There are many other ways to volunteer assisting with field maintenance, scorekeeping, set up/clean up during events, field/snack bar clean up days, or extra shifts at the snack bar- Every role helps!
