ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SCOREKEEPING

Scorekeeping is an important part of every Little League game and helps ensure accurate game records, pitch counts, and standings throughout the season. To keep games running smoothly, each team is responsible for providing the required scorekeeping volunteers for every game. (Rookie Division Exempt)

Game Day Assignments

Each team must provide the following trained/adult volunteers:

▶︎ Team: Scorekeeper

▶︎ Visiting Team: Pitch Count Recorder / Scoreboard Operator

⏱ Important:
Failure to fill these positions may result in game forfeiture after a 15-minute grace period.

Scorekeeping assignments are the responsibility of each team. If you are scheduled to scorekeep and are unable to attend, please notify your Team Parent as soon as possible so a replacement can be arranged. Assignments should always be confirmed before game time to avoid delays or game issues.

If a trained adult volunteer is not available, the Manager or Team Parent must assign a team coach to perform the duty, this may lead to fewer coaches helping coach the game. Parents, please do you part and be prepared for your assigned day.

Booth Guidelines

🚪 Minimize Disruptions:

Scorekeeping requires full attention during every play. Please avoid entering or exiting the booth during games unless necessary. Games are live-streamed and recorded. Movement and noise in the booth can disrupt both the scorekeeper and the broadcast.

Only the following individuals are permitted in the scorekeeper booth:

• Scorekeepers
• Umpires
• League officials

Managers or coaches may enter only when conducting official league business.

Scorekeepers may close the booth door to limit distractions.
🚫 No children are allowed in the scorekeeping booth.

After Each Game

At the conclusion of the game please obtain each manager signatures on the scorebook and pitch count sheets. Then staple together the following documents:

• Scorekeeping sheet
• Pitch count sheet
• Both lineup cards

Leave all paperwork on the score booth table. The Director of the Day(board) will collect the documents and lock up the booth after games.

**Our Score Booths were recently renovated, please help keep them clean.

SCOREKEEPING QUESTIONS

Questions During a Game

A Director of the Day (league board member) will be present at the fields and supervising the scorekeeping booths to help ensure games run smoothly. However, the Director of the Day is not available to provide scorekeeping training on game day.

Please review the training materials and videos a day BEFORE your assigned day. If you have questions, ask them prior to the game whenever possible. Helpful cheat sheets and guides will also be available in each booth for quick reference.
