TEAMS:
NWLL Softball is open to girls softball ages* 4 to 15 and has spring AND fall seasons. We build skills and play against teams in other parts of D.C. To find out your players softball age use the 2024 Little League Softball age chart. We accepting limited registrations for:
- Junior Division: ages 13 to 15
- Major Player Pitch Division*: Girls age 10, 11 and 12
- AAA Player Pitch Division*: Girls age 8 to 10
- AA Machine Pitch*: Girls age 7 to 9
- Single A/Tee Ball*: Girls age 4-6*
*Determine your player's softball age using this 2024 Little League Softball chart. The birthday cutoff for softball is different than baseball so please review the chart.
*Players may play down or up dependent on age and skill level as determined by the league.
ELIGIBILITY:
Girls can participate in NWLL Softball if they live OR go to school in our geographic boundaries. Click HERE to see a map of our huge zone, which stretches from the Maryland line all the way downtown and includes the following neighborhoods (and more): AU Park, Berkley, Burleith, Cathedral Heights, parts of Cleveland Park, Foxhall, Georgetown, Glover Park, Kent, Massachusetts Heights, McLean Gardens, Observatory Circle, Palisades, Spring Valley, parts of Tenleytown, Wesley Heights, and Woodley Park.
PRACTICES:
Players should attend weekly practices. Practices will be at Friendship Fields at Turtle Park, Guy Mason Park, or Stoddert Elementary School.
- Weeknight: 1.5 hours on a weeknight to be determined.
- Saturday or Sundays: More information will be forthcoming.
We also offer Softball Pitching Clinics at various dates and times during and in the off season.
GAMES:
- Times: Games are in the afternoon on Sundays and or afternoon and some Saturdays. . We hold both games AND clinics on either Saturday or Sunday and girls not playing in games will still get to participate in the clinic.
- Locations: We play at home and away. Away games are most frequently played in Anacostia, Crestwood, Capitol Hill, Pleasant Plains, and Montgomery County.
COACHING:
Northwest Little League Girls Softball relies on volunteer coaches and, as we expand the program, we need more coaches! In the past, we have benefited from a combination of parents and recent college grads serving as coaches.
