BACKGROUND: NWLL’s Intermediate/Junior/Senior Division (formerly known as: Prep/Senior Division) was established to offer our players the opportunity to continue playing and developing in baseball as teenagers. NWLL provides a competitive playing environment and experienced, dedicated and professional coaching. Players will develop a deeper understanding of rules, develop their baseball skills on a larger field, and compete against experienced opponents. The Intermediate/Junior/Senior Division offers players a great opportunity to advance their baseball careers. The Intermediate/Junior/Senior Division also supplements participation on school teams, and does not conflict with school schedules. Most games are on weekends and some weekdays, and practices are run at a later time during weekdays.

We have expanded the number of aged level teams, and with that there’s always room for additional coaching help. If you have experience or have the desire to work with experienced coaches at this level. Please contact the Intermediate/Junior/Senior Division Commissioner.

INTERMEDIATE (13U): NWLL sponsors Intermediate team(s) for players age 13U. Players between the ages of 11-13 are eligible to play Intermediate level baseball. Over the past six seasons, the Intermediate team has been participating in the RBBA Intermediate Division.. Our teams have always been very competitive in this league, and finally broke through for a Championship last Spring season (2022). The teams play on 70-foot diamonds, against teams from other Leagues around the city and Maryland. Regular baseball rules are applied: leading, stealing, pick-offs, etc., and as a part of the growing experience, some of the games can be played on a 90 foot (i.e., full regulation) diamond. The Intermediate program has been a great success for many years, used as a stepping stone to learning how to play on the big Diamond. Emphasizing, the dedication and enthusiasm of the players and coaches.

DC JUNIORS (14U): This SPRING season will offer a revamped DC Juniors Division, from most of the Little League Organizations in the city. This division will be for players up to league aged 14U, and will play on 90 foot diamonds at Friendship, Guy Mason and fields around the city. The 14U League will be more competitive this spring season, with a ‘Champion’ crowned at the end of the season. More information to come, as we get closer to the spring season.

SENIORS (or Higher Level Juniors): We will attempt to form a Seniors (15-18) team this spring season (based upon registrations). This Spring season, we will have a higher level Juniors team, which will participate in the RBBA Juniors League in Rockville. The player age for this league is (16U). The team will play on a full-sized 90-foot diamond against strong competition from the District/Maryland/Virginia areas. The league allows potential high school players to gain additional experience and to compete against teams of varying skill levels. It is also a great opportunity to get extra reps toward mastering position skills. Practices will be on Sundays prior to the start of the game schedule, and one evening during the week. More information to come, as we get closer to the spring season.
