Softball Junior-Minors (instructional) Rules
- 1st inning- bat continuous batting order; do not count outs
- If the batter is thrown out, she returns to the dugout; she does not remain on base
- All subsequent innings: play continues until 3 outs are made OR the entire team has an at bat
- There will be a 10 pitch limit per player; if the batter cannot make contact after 10 pitches, it will be counted as an out (in the 2nd or 3rd inning), and the player will return to the dugout; at no time will a “tee” be used instead of coach pitch
- a coach assisting a batter who is struggling will be acceptable
- Each batter shall take only 1 base per at-bat (even if it rolls out to the parking lot
(Home Run Exception -if the batter hits it over the fence-she may take all 4 bases)
- games shall be no longer than 90 mins in duration
- No score shall be kept
- Face masks are not required, but highly recommended. They are required at the uplevels and it is good for players to get used to playing with them.
- The position of catcher will be filled by a player
- No minimum number of players is required to start the game
- At the end of the season(last 2 games), kid-pitch will be allowed at the coaches’ discretion
