The goal of the Midway Athletic Club is to provide a fun and safe environment for players to learn the fundamentals of softball. We thank you for your interest in participating!
Player Eligibility:
For player eligibility age information, please see the Forysth County Youth Athletics Baseball and Softball rulebook for the most recent season.
All decisions regarding whether a player may ‘play up’ into a higher age division is at the discretion of the Softball Director.
Equipment:
All players are required to provide their own cleats, glove, helmet with face mask, and bat. A fielder's face mask is highly recommended.
Uniforms will be furnished by Midway Athletic Club and fittings will be done during Player Evaluations.
Coaching:
Any volunteers interested in coaching a team (including returning coaches - head coaches or assistants) must sign-up to volunteer during the player registration process.
Once selected, coaches will then complete an online background check using a vendor contracted with Forsyth County.
All coach selections will be performed by the Midway Athletic Club Board near registration closure.
A mandatory Softball Coaches Meeting will be held around the beginning of March. The meeting will likely be held at the Central Park Recreation Center.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss league rules, procedures, post-season tournaments and more.
A representative from each team must attend the meeting to receive their team’s regular season game schedule.
Practice / Games:
Practices will begin mid February and games will begin mid March. Practice schedules will be distributed after the teams are formed. The County will have the game schedule ready at the coaches meeting in March.
There will be a Post Season Tournament toward the end of May.
