WINTER PROGRAMMING
WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE WINTER (NOV/DEC = WINTER I
AND
JAN/FEB = WINTER II) INDOOR PROGRAMMING FOR GRADES K-8.
 
LED BY COACHES FROM STAPLES HS AND WESTPORT PAL COACHES, PLAYERS WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP THEIR FUNDAMENTAL SKILLS, LAX IQ AND LOVE OF LACROSSE! A GREAT WAY TO KEEP SKILLS SHARP IN THE WINTER!

Given that space is limited, these programs will be for experienced players only (at least one Spring season of play). Registration will be capped at 25 players per program. We do expect these programs to fill quickly, so please register soon.

As an off-season sport, indoor space allocations in Westport are very limited for GLAX.

Winter II registration will open early December.

WINTER I (Nov/Dec)

*Experienced Players Only

WEDNESDAYS (Grades 5-8)
DATES: 5 weeks - 11/15, 11/29, 12/6, 12/13, 12/20

LOCATION: STAPLES FIELD HOUSE, WESTPORT - Outer Pod Closest to Staples Gym

FORMAT: SKILLS & SCRIMMAGES
Continuing to build on Fall instruction, sessions will focus on honing individual fundamental skills as well as teaching game-play strategies, with the latter half devoted to scrimmage play!

Goalies are very welcome - we can provide equipment!

TIMES:

Grades 5-6       6:00p - 7:00p

Grades 7-8       7:00p - 8:00p

WEDNESDAYS | Open to Grades 3-4 &
Experienced Players in Grades 5-8

DATES: 5 weeks - 1/10, 1/24, 1/31, 2/7, 2/14

FORMAT: SKILLS & SCRIMMAGES

Sessions focus on technical skills, furthering player understanding of the game and small-sided scrimmage play. New this year, sessions will also focus on the recently announced Olympic format of Sixes play! Great preparation for the upcoming Spring season!
Goalies are very welcome - we can provide equipment!

LOCATION: STAPLES FIELD HOUSE, WESTPORT

TIMES: Grades 3-4    6:00p - 7:00p (outer pod)
Grades 5-6    7:00p - 8:00p (middle pod)
Grades 7-8    7:00p - 8:00p (outer pod)

SUNDAYS (Grades K-2 / Gr 5-8 NEW PLAYERS)

DATES: 6 weeks - 1/7, 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4, 2/11

FORMAT: SKILLS
Sessions focus on technical skills, helping new players (not played one season of Spring yet) further develop fundamentals in preparation for the Spring season.

LOCATION: SAUGATUCK ELEMENTARY GYM, WESTPORT

TIMES:
Grades K-2    5:00p - 6:00p
Grades 5-8 NEW PLAYERS    6:00p - 7:00p


 

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT (Please see website for more information)
●    Properly-sized girls lacrosse stick
●    Mouthguard (no strap), can not be clear or white
●    Eyeguard
●    Pinnie (preferably Westport GLAX, but any blue/white one from other Westport sports is ok)
●    Water bottle - clearly labeled
●    SNEAKERS ONLY

WESTPORT GLAX REFUND POLICY
For Winter programs, refunds requested before the start of the clinics will be issued less a $25 administrative fee. Once clinics begin, refunds will be issued less a $50 administrative fee, as coaches are already hired at this point.
