Portland Soccer Referee Payments for Matches

New: U9/U10 7v7 will only be assigned one Center Ref 

If only one ref at U11+ game: Ref pay is the Center fee plus one Assistant Ref Fee

 If only two refs are at the game: Center Ref and the Assistant Ref receive normal pay; the 2nd Assistant Ref fee is not paid out and should be returned to the club.

Coaches: pay the ref in cash after the game. Collect referee written signature, date, and payment amount to make sure the club can reimburse you and account for the club expenditures.

Minimum Age: U12+ (no one under 11 years old can referee rec soccer)

Club's Travel Players are prioritized as referees. If additional referees are needed, children in town can request to sign up for a special "referee registration event" to be created by club registrar. This ensures the children are insured

Rec referees must (1) wear uniform, and (2) bring a whistle, (3) stopwatch, (4) arrive 30 minutes early for preparation, (5) take down cones at end of match and return them to the shed.

Referees are paid $20 for their work in cash by Club President or representative at the field.
