Wildcat Jr. Cheerleading goals, rules and expectations


***PLEASE NOTE THAT RULES AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS WILL BE UPDATED TO ALIGN WITH CURRENT COVID GUIDELINES AS OUR SEASON APPROACHES***

Goals

  1. That everyone will learn and grow from their experience with our organization.

  2. To lead cheers and raise the level of fan support for our team.

  3. To develop skills in good sportsmanship, leadership, cooperation, team building.

  4. To improve cheer technique including motion execution and sharpness, timing, and rhythm.        

  5. To improve endurance, strength and flexibility.

  6. To learn poise and confidence.

  7. To make new friends. 

  8. Most of all we want everyone to have fun.

Overall Rules

  1. When a coach is talking, no one else should be. 

  2. Be an active learner.  Accept constructive criticism and learn from it.

  3. We cheer regardless of weather – sun, rain, wind or snow.

  4. Be kind, courteous, polite, and respectful to everyone.

  5. Include everyone, never leave someone out.

  6. Your teammates are your family, do nothing to let them down.

  7. Every cheerleader must think in terms of team success instead of individual glory.  Always put the team first.

  8. Help and support team members.

  9. We will not tolerate foul language, trash talk, insulting or taunting.

  10. No unsupervised stunts.

  11.  No unsupervised cartwheels, handstand or back handspring.

Practice Rules

  1. Be on time.

  2. Wear comfortable closed toed shoes (no flip flops or sandals).

  3. Bring your bag and pompoms.

  4. Bring a water bottle.

  5. Bring a coat.

  6. Label all items with your name

  7. If you need help with a cheer/jump/stunt ask for help.

  8. Learn the cheers and dances so that you are prepared.

  9. Practice, practice, and practice some more.
