Coach Josh Merry has more than twenty years of wrestling experience and is entering his third year at Mount Pisgah as Director of Wrestling. He came from Riverside Military Academy where he helped coach Riverside to five straight team state championships. As a wrestler he was a four year NCAA collegiate wrestler at Division II Anderson University. Coach Merry served as the Team Captain both his Junior and Senior years and was a two-time NCAA Academic All-American. Currently he teaches Science in the Upper School. Coach Emmett E. Childress, Jr will once again be serving on the coaching staff. He has numerous years of wrestling experience including numerous honors and achievements in both Freestyle and Greco style wrestling. Coach Childress has worked with our wrestling program as both Assistant Coach and Head Coach and he brings much experience and leadership to the coaching team.

Coach Gene Lydick wrestled at Tekamah Herman High School and was a four year letterman. He was ranked 1st in state his senior year, and helped his team to a top five finish in the national rankings among high school teams. Coach Lydick wrestled for UWFI in Japan for seven years, which is a combination of Thai Kick boxing and Greco/Freestyle wrestling. Most recently he helped coach his son to a 5A Georgia state championship and 7th place at Cedar Falls Iowa nationals. [email protected]

The Mount Pisgah Christian Wrestling Team would like to introduce the addition of Coach Tersoo Uhaa to the coaching staff. He comes from Furman University where he majored in Health and Exercise Science and was the starting running back the previous four years. Over the course of those four years he broke and set numerous school records on the football field. Before attending Furman he graduated from Riverside Military Academy. At Riverside Military Academy he participated in football, wrestling, and track & field. He helped all those teams win a Team State Championship in addition to earning individual state championships in wrestling, shot-put, discus, and the 4X100 relay team.
