The Patriot Takedown youth wrestling program is developed for student-athletes of all ages within the school and community, and geared towards
K-5th grade. This program is developed to help build the basic fundamentals of wrestling.
Mission Statement:
The Pisgah Takedown Club is a youth wrestling club lead by passionate, nurturing, professional coaches who participate with the local community to promote the amateur sport of wrestling.
WHEN:
Practice start Tuesday November 4,, 2014 – Lower School Cafeteria
· Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30pm-7:30pm
· Practices will include warming-up, learning some fundamental moves, wrestling in live situations followed by a little conditioning.
Cost: $35 per player
Age Divisions: K- 5th grade
- All wrestlers will need to purchase or renew a membership card with USA Wrestling which can be done at Team Georgia Wrestling; the cost of the membership is $35/year.
- Spirit package can be purchased which include a t-shirt, shorts, sweat-pants, and sweat-shirt
Tournaments TBD
· Each tournament requires a fee ranging from $10-$20 depending on the tournament. When each wrestler signs up for a tournament they will be required to pay the fee.

FAQ's
Are there try-outs for the wrestling team?
No. Everyone that comes out for the team automatically joins the team.
Can my child try wrestling before I sign him/her up?
Yes. Your child can come to two nights of wrestling practice before registering. The deadline for registering your child is Monday, November 25th. Registration is done online and the cost is $25.00; there is a price increase of $10.00 after 11/15.
When and where will practices be held?
Practices are held in the Lower School Cafeteria on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:45 to 8:00pm starting Tuesday, November 5th. To get to the cafeteria enter on the Old Alabama Road side of Mount Pisgah. Enter through double doors on right side at the top of the stairs Follow signs to Cafeteria.
Will my child have to wear a wrestling singlet for practice or tournaments?
No, attire for practice can be t-shirts and gym shorts (no zippers or pockets). Attire for tournaments can be a tight fitting shirt (Under Armour for example) and gym shorts (no zippers or pockets) or singlet.
Does my child have to attend every tournament listed on the schedule?No. The tournaments listed on the schedule are not mandatory. They are there in case you want your child to compete away from practice. The Sunday tournaments are for beginner wrestlers only (1-2 years of experience). There will be some beginner wrestlers at the Saturday tournaments that your child may wrestle. If your child plans to wrestle in a tournament, a USA competitor's card is required. The cost is $35.00.How do I get the USA card?

Wrestling shoes and headgear are required for practice and tournaments. Both can be purchased online or at a local sports store (Dick's Sporting Goods, Sports Authority, etc.). Knee pads are not mandatory, but may be beneficial.
