SPRING
Etown Fastpitch girls' youth softball Spring program is offered for 8U/10U/12U/14U age levels, ALL skill levels. FREE 6U clinics are also offered.
PLAYERS MUST RESIDE IN THE ELIZABETHTOWN AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT (Elizabethtown, PA)
Please register your player for her age as of 08/31/24. If you would like to have your player considered to play up one age level, please use the comments box to indicate your request and any other necessary requests (coach and teammate requests). All requests will be reviewed and discussed with the parents as appropriate for the development of each player and are not guaranteed. It is highly recommended that players stay in their age group to grow in leadership and skill.
REGISTRATION OPEN 1/1/25-2/1/25. LATE FEE of $15 will be charged to all registrations after 2/1/25 and spots will not be guaranteed.
Once jerseys are ordered, the cost of the jersey (included in registration fee) cannot be refunded.
Spring fundraiser is required to maintain costs of the fields and the program. Parents may opt out of the fundraiser for $40 ($65 opt out for multiple players in the same family). All players are required to have one representative serve at least one concession slot during the regular season AND one slot during a fundraiser tournament during the season (10U/12U tournament and/or high school showcase tournament).
Our Spring season is scheduled to begin practices two times per week late March as follows*:
6U Clinics (free)- series of three 1.5 hr introductory sessions Sundays 12pm-1:30pm April/May dates TBD. Must be 5yr old by Apr 1st. (9/1/2017- 04/01/2020)
TEAM Practices & Games:
8U: Wed/Sat (Born 09/01/2015-8/31/2017; 09/01/2017-12/31/2018 considered)
10U: Tue/Thur (Born 09/01/2013-08/31/2015)
12U: Mon/Wed (Born 09/01/2011-08/31/2013)
14U: Tue/Thur/possible Friday games (Born 09/01/2009-8/31/2011)
Games will begin Mid April (late April/early May for 14U) on the same weekdays as above (teams will either have a game or practice).
Practice days are subject to change based on number of teams and availability of coaches/fields; however, game days of the week for each age level are set across the entire LANCO Youth Softball league.
Etown 10U/12U tournament will be held on Sat 5/17/25 (12U) and Sun 5/18/25 (10U) at our fields. Please save these dates as our teams will be participating. Dates subject to change. All teams will be given the opportunity to participate in a tournament during the Spring season at no additional registration cost to families.
Game season: Mid-April through Mid June
We will communicate open gyms and process for player evaluations once confirmed with the school for gym space. All 10U/12U/14U players are expected to attend the player evaluations to assess skill levels. All players will be placed on a team. TENTATIVE Player Evaluation Date: SUNDAY FEB 2nd.

Fall Season
Team Practices begin Mid August, day of the week TBD by the head coach.
Practices will be held at the Wenger Rheems Athletic Softball Fields located at 136 Robinson Dr. Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Games will be playing at various local fields in Lancaster County, PA.
8U - Game schedule will be determined based on the number of teams -most likely 5-6 games on Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon (not officially part of Fall umpire league, but we schedule scrimmages with other organizations within the league).
10U/12U/14U - Double-header games on SUNDAYS 1pm-4pm starting September 8th and ending Oct 27th. Six game days plus two bye weeks, total of 8wk schedule.
Please register per USA Softball AGE CHARTS for 2025-2026 (age for play in SPRING 2026). The new ages allow players born SEP/OCT/NOV/DEC of a given year (that would have otherwise moved up) to stay in the lower age level. These changes were made 2023-2024 to align with school age.

Team placements will be determined on many factors including number of participants at each age level, requests, pitcher/catcher assignments, etc.

- AGE LEVEL DESCRIPTION:
- 8U – Coach pitch, if the player is unable to hit the ball after 6-9 throws, she hits from a tee
- Uses a 11” Incrediball Softball
- Glove and sneakers or cleats required, Bats and helmets available to borrow if needed
- Games – Players run one base at a time. No stealing. Either 3 outs or 5 runs each inning
- 10U – Player Pitch (35') with Coach pitch after 4 balls, no walks, but may strike out. NO TEE. Major and Minor levels.
- Uses a 11” softball
- Glove and Sneakers or Cleats required. Bats and helmets available to borrow if needed
- Games – Players may steal any base after pitcher releases the ball, except third base to home. Either 3 outs or 5 runs each inning.
- 12U – Player Pitch (40') with A and B levels
- Uses a 12” softball
- Glove and Cleats(no metal) required. Bats and helmets available to borrow if needed.
- Games – Players may steal any base. Dropped third strike and infield fly rules apply. Either 3 outs or 5 runs each inning.
- 14U – Player Pitch (43') with A and B Levels
- Uses a 12” softball
- Glove and Cleats (metal cleats allowed) required
- Games – Players may steal any base. Either 3 outs or 5 runs each inning. 14U-A has no run limit each inning and plays with 9 on the field.

- Provided Equipment:
- 8U/10U/12U/14U- Players may borrow Bats, Helmets, and Catching Equipment which is to be returned at the end of the season.

- All Families are required to work in the Concession Stand (it will be your job to find a replacement or switch with another family if you cannot make your scheduled time)
- You must be 18 years of age to work the “Back of the House” in the Concession Stand around hot or dangerous equipment but you can be 11 years old to work the “Front of the House” with parental supervision
- Concession Stand Profit goes directly to softball so let’s make it a great year

- Each player will be required to sell a minimum of 40 sticks, 25 sticks for each additional player in the same family.
- If you choose to Opt-out, it is $40.00 a player and $25.00 for each additional player in the same family. Opt-out does not crossover to other sports within the RAA Organization.
