NASC participates within PAWest age group divisions for those wishing to play competitive travel soccer for the club beyond 12 years of age. There is no try-out process required for participation in this level of play. Team selection is based upon the number of players registered, their respective ages and known playing history.
The number of teams represented by North Allegheny Soccer Club and their designated divisions depends on the number of qualified participants, ages of the participants, and coordinator/coaching recommendations. Past experience shows NASC usually fields teams in the Division 4 league with U14 Boys. Also a factor is what divisions are offered leagues within PAWest for a given season. A team could consist of children from various age groups; the oldest participant determines the age group at which that team may play.
Coaches for these teams are volunteers from within the organization. The North Allegheny Soccer Club encourages parents who have playing experience or a coaching license to inquire with the appropriate age group coordinator(s) about their desire to coach an individual team. Competitive teams normally practice 2 to 3 times per week.
Games are played on Sunday afternoons against teams from other soccer clubs within the PA West soccer organization. Most games are within Allegheny County with approximately half of the games played on home fields. Additionally some teams may choose to participate in PAWest tournaments.
Roster sizes may vary from 15 to 20 individuals with play consisting of 10 field players plus a goalkeeper on a full regulation sized field. Games consist of 35 minute halves.
Uniforms
New travel jerseys may be purchased via this website during the registration process. If you wish to purchase a jersey after you have already registered, please contact our Registrar to have the fee added to your account. After registration closes and prior to the first games, purchased jerseys will be distributed through the travel team coaches. DO NOT try to pick up travel uniforms from Soccer Source.
