Background Check

Due to a state law change, background checks are mandatory for all referees (regardless of age). Please be aware that here is a fee that is associated with each check. We are investigating how we can reimburse referees that are associating themselves with North Allegheny Soccer Club.

Below are the steps (with associated weblinks(in red)) that you need to use to get through this requirement.

Step 1:  Act 034 - Criminal Background check:            Pennsylvania State Police Background Check
Step 2:  Act 151 - Child Abuse background check:      Pennsylvania Child Welfare Portal
Step 3:  Act 114 - FBI Fingerprint/background check:  Cogent Applicant Fingerprint Check   <== Choose "Pennsylvania Department of Human Services"
(in lieu of the FBI fingerprint check, minors need to have this affidavit completed and notarized)
Step 4:  After receiving the clearances (may take a week or two), scan each type of clearance into a separate .pdf file.  So, you should end up with three .pdf files (FBI check, Child Abuse check, and one for Criminal background check ).
Step 5:  Go to the PA West Affinity Risk Management Website  and upload the .pdf files (instructions are located on the PA West Risk Management Website)
Step 6:  Please email a copy of the .pdf files to Carl Belletti for the clubs records.

Weekly Game Assignment Procedure

Game assignments are made weekly and are based on the monthly availability information entered by the referee.
      1. Your games will be assigned on Sunday night for falling week. You have until Tuesday night to confirm your games. If I don't hear back from you  by Wednesday your name will be taken off list for that week  and that game will be assigned on first come.
      2. The schedule will be  posted to the Referee Assignment Calendar
      3. Check the schedule as soon as you can, and before the deadline specified on the email.
      4. If you accept your assignment, in the subject heading of your reply email, respond with a "YES"
If you do not accept your assignment, in the subject heading of your reply email, enter a "NO"

If you have accepted an assignment, but you are unable to fulfill that commitment, contact the Referee Assignor immediately!

** You may be assigned multiple games on the same day, so check thoroughly! **
Email confirmations, questions or issues to:  [email protected]
Don't forget to include your name on the Email!
Be properly equipped (have a WATCH!) and on time for your games.

Zero Tolerance Policy

Zero Tolerance Policy

The North Allegheny Soccer Club (NASC) has a Zero Tolerance Policy regarding behavior and language that are inappropriate for youth sporting events. Inappropriate behavior and language include, but are not limited to, aggressive physical contact of any kind or other intimidating physical behavior; argumentative or disparaging yelling or screaming directed at players, referees, or others; and profanity or other derogatory or demeaning comments made to or about players, referees, or others.

Coaches and assistant coaches are responsible for their own behavior and should monitor, address, and report to the board inappropriate behavior on the part of their fellow coaches, players, and parents. NASC sponsors recreational soccer leagues. Players are learning. Coaches are learning. Referees are learning. All will make mistakes.

Your conduct should be governed by two principles: encouragement and respect. Players, coaches, referees, and parents who do not comport themselves in conformance with this policy shall not be entitled to NASC membership and will not be permitted to participate in NASC events.
