Civitan will once again offer the Open League for select grade divisions in addition to our traditional Recreational League.
See details below to ensure you select the correct program during registration.
We cannot guarantee placement for athletes registered in the wrong age division or league.
Failure to register your player in the correct age division and/or league, may result in a cancellation and additional fees.

Players cannot play in both leagues.

Recreational League Basketball 

This is the traditional program Civitan has offered for years. Players are evaluated and assigned to teams through the coach draft.
If your child needs to be placed on a team, this is the program for them.

Player Fee: $188 - includes player’s uniform 
$25 late fee begins on 10/1

Boy’s division for 1^st-8^th grades* 
Girl’s division for 1^st-9^th grades* 
Division based on player's grade for the 2025-26 school year.
**We do not allow grade play-ups. Kindergarteners are not eligible to play**.
Civitan reserves the right to merge divisions to ensure player placement.

OPEN League Basketball (select grades) 

The "bring your own team"- open league is returning for a 3rd season!  
Participants in this league MUST already be committed to a team. Players register individually.

Player Fee: $190 - Team provides their own uniform 
$25 late fee begins on 10/1

Boy’s division for 3^rd, 4^th, 5^th & 6^th grades 
Girl’s division for 5^th-6^th grades combined 
Division based on player's grade for the 2025-26 school year. 
Civitan reserves the right to merge divisions to ensure player placement.

4 teams minimum – 8 teams maximum per grade division 
Maximum of 10 players per team 
Teams will provide their own uniforms 
Team names and uniform design must be approved by Civitan
Practice times will be offered to open teams 
Open league coaches must email their full roster to Michael Raper by 9/30. 

Important Tentative Dates (Rec & Open league): 

Starting Oct 12^th  MANDATORY player evaluations for ALL REC league players (dates/times TBA)
Players unable to attend evals will be placed as blind draw to a team at random. No evals for OPEN league.
10/29 MANDATORY Coaches meeting for both leagues Time/Location TBA
11/1 Practices Begin for both leagues
12/6 Games Begin for both leagues

Interested in Coaching?
Be sure to complete the coaching application online. 
Civitan is a volunteer organization, and we need parents who are interested in sharing their 
knowledge and love of the game with the youth in our community. 
Coaches are required to pass a background check with the City of Hendersonville-Parks Dept, 
hold a current NAYS basketball coaching certificate & be current with a hands-on CPR/AED training.
