Mason Dixon Soccer League

Volunteer for MDSL

The Mason Dixon Soccer League is a non-profit organization that runs solely on charitable contributions and player registration fees. We are always looking for volunteers. It is rewarding to be involved, especially if you have children interested in the sport. Not to mention, it can be a positive bonding experience for both you and your child. Available positions include coaches, assistant coaches, and field maintenance. One of our greatest needs is for coaches, especially in the IM program. If you are interested in becoming a coach/assistant coach, you do not need to have a high level of experience in soccer. Our league offers a variety of resources to help with this task including coaches clinics, online tutorials, and experienced coaches who are more than happy to provide advice. Please look over the board members page to find the appropriate contact information for the age group in which you would like to apply.

MDSL is also currently looking for referees for our IM (intramural) games. Referees must be at minimum in high school and soccer experience is strongly preferred. If interested, please email [email protected]

Mason Dixon prides itself on good sportsmanship, love of soccer and in generating a greater interest in the sport in a fun and comfortable environment for all players and their families. Please come join us!

Volunteer Clearances

Volunteers play a vital role in supporting the Mason Dixon Soccer League. We are very thankful that you have expressed an interest in volunteering.

Effective July 2016, new PA Child Protection Laws require background checks for coaches, assistant coaches, and applicable volunteers. These include a FBI background check, PA criminal background check, and a PA child welfare background check. PA/FBI background checks are valid for 5 years and must not expire prior to the end of this season. Additionally, in 2017 the US Congress passed the Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act. Coaches and assistant coaches are required to complete Concussion training, SafeSport Training, and certify EPYSA Risk Management statements annually These clearances must not expire prior to the end of the season.

Detailed directions for completing the clearances are found below.
