COACHES WANTED!

Mason Dixon prides itself on good sportsmanship, love of soccer and to generate a greater interest in the sport in a fun and comfortable environment for all players and their families.

As always we will need coaches especially for IM. It is a rewarding and fun job especially if you have students interested in the sport. It can be a positive bonding experience for you and your child not to mention you can have tons of fun together.

You do not need to have a high level of experience in soccer. We just need you to enjoy volunteering your time for the kids. There will be a coach’s clinic and there is always much information available to help with this task.

Signing up for a Coach/Assistant Coach Position is easy! Just sign up while you are completing your child's registration online. If you have already signed your child up, simply log into your account, select Volunteer Opportunities, and select Find Volunteer Roles. It will provide a listing of roles by each division that you have a child signed up for. Select Sign Up next to the desired Volunteer Role, and follow the instructions on the screen.

Once you sign up, be sure to complete Volunteer Clearances, if you have never been a Coach or Assistant Coach for MDSL. This information is available on our Become a Volunteer page. Once you complete the clearances, they are valid for five years.

Suggested Gear

Spring IM participants should have the following soccer gear:

  • shin guards
  • soccer socks (any color) must cover shin guards
  • soccer cleats  (NO metal spikes, baseball, or football cleats)

Players should wear weather-appropriate clothing, like sport shorts and a t-shirt (or jersey) when warm. They need to be comfortable and able to move around so restrictive clothing should be avoided.

Participants are provided a ball at the start of the season and should bring this ball to each practice.

A uniform jersey will be provided to each participant (covered under the registration fee) prior to the first game.
