Magellan Soccer: In the Community

MAGELLAN SOCCER believes in the importance of helping its players develop into good soccer players and good citizens.  As part of that mission, the club is involved in several community outreach programs.

Magellan Soccer Shoe Drive (Now through June 2015)

Magellan Soccer is conducting a shoe drive to help provide for those in need.  All money raised by this effort will create an internal scholarship fund for our families that require financial support.  All members in the club are participating.

Magellan Juggle-a-Thon (May 25-30, 2015)

Magellan Soccer players will be raising money by practicing and refining their juggling skills in the inaugural Juglle-a-Thon.  Money will be raised based on either a) total juggles during the week or b) juggling record amount.  All proceeds from this activity will be used to help reduce expenses and keep membership fees as low as possible.  We believe in requiring a little sweat equity from our players to get the opportunities for which their parents generally pay.  Plus, this is a way for players to help raise money toward their soccer experience while also improving in a critical area of their game.

The Juggle-a-Thon will culminate with a showcase in the Railyard on May 30th.  Magellan Soccer players will exhibit their skills with a variety of choreographed routines, footwork skills, and fun activities.  More details will be coming soon!

Rumble in the Railyard (June 12-14, 2015)

Onyx Futbol Club is hosting its first 3v3 tournament in the Railyard this June, with the proceeds benefiting Special Olympics Nebraska.  Games will take place in inflatable fields and should be a great atmosphere.  Many Magellan families will be supporting this great cause and play in the event.
