United Recreational - Frequently Asked Questions

When Do I Register?
Fall Soccer -- June 1 - July 31.  After July 31 players will be charged a 20% late fee and will be placed on a waiting list and placement is subject to team availability.
Spring Soccer-- December 1 - January 31. After January 31 players will be charged a 20% late fee and will be placed on a waiting list and placement is subject to team availability.

How do I register?
Online and pay by credit card or check at the Arkansas United website www.arkansasunited.com

What is the Cost?
U4 Players - $85
U5-U8 Recreational Players - $125 
U9-U18 Recreational Players - $135 (an additional $25 Uniform Fee will be assessed for players U11-U18)
U9-U10 Academy Players - $250 - See the Academy Pages for Program Information 

Do I get a Uniform?
Yes, for U5-U18 players, registration fees for new players include a uniform of jersey, shorts, and socks.  Returning players from the fall will not receive a new uniform in the spring. Only new players for spring will receive a new uniform. You provide shin guards, soccer shoes, and a soccer ball. For U4 players a t-shirt is included with registration.

Do you have teams for my age group?
AR United has teams for most every age group. We combine two grades in some older ages if we do not have enough players to form a full team with one age group. The youngest age group is U4 and you must have a birthday between Aug 1, 2009 - Jul 31, 2010 to play in that age group.

Where do I play for ages U4?
U4 players train once a week at Verizon or Natural Steps for fall & spring seasons. The fall session of the season will be mid September and spring session of the season will be mid March.

Where do I play for ages U5-U8?
U5-U8 teams train at least once per week. They play on Saturdays at Murray Park. All games on Saturdays are between 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM. 

Where do I play U9-U18?
U9-U18 play other CASL teams within 60 miles of LR. Teams may play 1 tournament per season. Home fields are at Verizon and Natural Steps.

When do I practice?
Teams train once per week. Players are offered an additional skills training session with our professionally licensed staff once per week. Some teams may choose to use the skills training session as their team training for the week.

What is the Team Format? 
U5-U8 ages offer both co-ed and girls teams
U9-U10 ages offer both boys and girls teams
U11-U12 ages offer both boys and girls teams
U14-U18 ages offer both boys and girls teams  

What size soccer ball do I buy for my child?

For U4-U8 /size 3
For U9-U12/ size 4
For U13-U18 / size 5

How many on a team?
Ages U5-U8 up to 8 on a team
Ages U9-U10 up to 12 on a team
Ages U11-U12 up to 16 on a team
Ages U13-U18 up to 22 on a team

How many play on the field?
Ages U5-U8 play with 4 on the field, and no goalkeepers
Ages U9-U10 play with 6 on the field
Ages U11-U12 play with 8 on the field
Ages U13-U18 play with 11 on the field

What is the length of a game? 
Ages U5-U6 play four 8 minute quarters, with 2 minute breaks, and a 5 minute half time.
Ages U7-U8 play four 12 minute quarters, with 2 minute breaks, and a 5 minute half time. 
Ages U9-U10 play two 25 minute halves, with a 5 minute half time. 
Ages U11-U12 play two 30 minute halves, with a 5 minute half time.
Ages U13-U14 play two 35 minute halves, with a 10 minute half time. 
U15-U16 play two 40 minute halves, with a 10 minute half time. 
U17-U18 play two 45 minute halves, with a 15 minute half time.

Can I make request?
Yes, there is a section in the online registration process called "comments line". We do our best to honor requests, but can’t make any guarantees.

When will I know my coach or team?
Coaches meetings will be prior to each season.  After the recreational coaches meeting, coaches will then begin to contact their teams.
