Arkansas United (formally known as LRFC) was not formed to compete with or to take the place of other community programs, but rather to provide a different level of training and competition for those interested in making a real commitment to the development of their children and the sport. To that end, Arkansas United offers recreational soccer for ages U4 – U18. Recreational soccer provides a great environment for players of any level to enjoy the game of soccer. Our Recreational program is the largest of our programs and is mostly staffed with volunteer coaches. We offer skills training with our professional coaching staff to all of our recreational players throughout the season. In addition, each team will have a team training with their volunteer coach.

U9-10 players have the option of playing recreational soccer or participating in our United Development Academy. The Development Academy is designed to provide classic style training to prepare players for Classic soccer for the upcoming years. Player development is the focus of Arkansas United at the younger age groups. We provide the tools that are necessary for every player to be successful at the highest levels of the game. Competition is always important and stressed in training, but winning games is not the sole focus in our development philosophy. Players learn from making mistakes. We want players to be creative, and apply what they have learned in training, without the pressure of having to win first. This is how young players understand to play the game successfully, and it has been proven through decades of research. United States Youth Soccer emphasizes that this is still a prime development stage in young players, and the game should continue to be fun for them without the pressure of winning or losing every game.

Beginning at U11 – U18, Arkansas United offers Classic Soccer which is more competitive and designed for those that wish to play at a higher level.  As players advance through our program and develop the skills necessary to be successful, then our teams becomes stronger. At this level, a higher emphasis is placed on results, with a continued importance for players to understand how to play the game and have success. Classic players should become more committed to the sport of soccer, understanding that travel is a bigger part of the makeup of the program. Players are asked to commit to two nights of training with their teams, plus an additional United skills training night. We are committed to excellence by producing the highest quality training and player development in the state of Arkansas. We have continually produced successful college players that can compete at the next level. Arkansas United has been the soccer club of choice for over 25 years.

We look forward to you being a part of our soccer family!

CLUB NEWS

We are UNITED!
Why did the name change?

  • Riverdale Soccer Association was formed in 1980 to provide an opportunity for kids to play competitive soccer in the Rebsamen area of Little Rock.  As the sport began to grow in the United States, so did the membership of the Club with the addition of a recreational soccer program.
  • In 1997, the club changed its name to Little Rock Futbol Club (“LRFC”) to reflect the growth in membership to over 1000 players from all parts of the city.
  • Today, players from all over central Arkansas choose to play with our club. To honor that continued growth and to more fully represent all the players and the club's teams outside the capital city, teams will now play under the name Arkansas United (“United”).
