All Board Members, Game Coaches, Practice Coaches, and Field Maintenance volunteers must register to volunteer with Wilkes-Barre City Little League. Volunteers are required to provide valid government photo identification, undergo abuse awareness training, and complete a series of background checks. There are no exceptions to these requirements.

Little League Abuse Awareness Training is required on a yearly basis. Go to the Little League Abuse Awareness Training Course webpage, then either log into the training portal or create an account to register for the training. The user may need to log out out then log back in to their account for Little League's training system to properly recognize this training is required.

Per Pennsylvania state law, both a Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse History Clearance are required for unpaid volunteers every 60 months. If a volunteer has already completed either the record check or child abuse clearance but it expires prior to August 31, 2025, please complete the required background check again.

For volunteers who must complete a Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History - Criminal Record Check, go to state EPATCH website, then select "New Volunteer Record Check". You will have to agree to the terms and conditions before continuing with the request.

For volunteers who must complete a Pennsylvania Child Welfare Portal - Child Abuse History Clearance, go to state Child Welfare Portal, then either select "Individual Login" or "Create Individual Account".

- - If the volunteer has previously submitted a child abuse history clearance request, select "Individual Login", select "Access My Clearances", read the "Learn More" webpage and select "Continue" at the bottom of the page, then sign in on the Keystone Key ID page to begin the clearance request process.

- - If the volunteer is requesting a child abuse history clearance request for the first time, select "Create Individual Account", then read the "Create Keystone ID: General Information" webpage and select "Next" at the bottom of the page, then complete the "Create Keystone ID: Personal Information" form and select "Finish" at the bottom of the page to begin the clearance request process.

If any additional information is required per Little League International or Pennsylvania state law, the Player Agent or Safety Officer will contact the volunteer.

All training and record checks must be completed and the documentation uploaded to the volunteer's registration form prior to the start of the season. Without these certificates, the volunteer will be unable to participate this season.
