South Routt Program - GRASSROOTS information U5-U8

The Steamboat Soccer Club is proud to have the residents of Oak Creek, Phippsburg, and Yampa join our soccer club! SSC is working with Angie Baker to help run the program for U5-U10 players born between 2014-2019. SSC will also provide foundational support for running a successful grassroots soccer program. 8 week introductory program- 9/5 - 10/26/23
Basic soccer skills are taught & soccer played in a fun-filled, team environment.
Tuesday consists of a practice format including skills building and inter-team play. Practice Location: Yampa Elementary School
Thursdays will be "Game Day." The games are 4 vs 4 without goalkeepers. Children will be grouped by mixed age groups (U5/6 and U7/8) and teams are gender specific if we have enough players. Games will be played at Emerald Park in Steamboat Springs.
A $25 non-refundable cancellation fee is included.

SOROCO U9-U10 Grassroots Developmental Soccer

There are two different programs for the Grassroots Developmental age group. Grassroots Developmental Soccer & The Academy (Please register for one or both programs)

The Grassroots Developmental Program is an in-house recreational soccer league with a more advanced curriculum. This group plays on gender and age specific teams depending on enrollment numbers. Players begin to develop individual technical abilities, although the focus is on fun! The first day of each week consists of a practice format including skills building and inter-team play. The second day of each week will be Game Day. These teams play in a 7v7 format with a goalkeeper. All practices are held at Yampa Elementary School on Tuesdays and all games are played on Thursdays at Memorial Field or Sleeping Giant School in Steamboat Springs.

For Fall of 2023 we will be offering an additional day of training for any U9-12 players that are signed up for our U9-10 Recreational or U11-12 Competitive programs. This additional training day will be offered every Wednesday ONLY at Emerald Park, from either 4:00-5:15pm or 5:30-6:45pm depending on the age group (see above).
**The Academy program requires a separate registration from either our U9-10 Recreational or our U11-12 Competitive Programs**

Is your soccer player invested in and enjoying soccer so much that they wish to add an additional day of training? This program is designed for players who want more, and are looking to put in the extra-effort to excel on the soccer field.

U9-10 Academy players will also have the opportunity to participate in games outside of their recreational games, either in a league or tournament format, details TBD. Any league or Tournament fees are included in the registration. The U11-12 program does not include a tournament.

RECREATION SOCCER (U11-U14)

We will look to amp up our u11-14 Recreational League for Fall of 2023, providing a training session and match each week for the players. This has been a culmination of previous seasons coming together to better mirror our u5-10 set up, while aiming to provide a fantastic option for players not looking to take part in Competitive soccer. The group training session on Tuesdays provides each player continued technical and tactical focus, while giving a fun atmosphere on Fridays for matches! Volunteer Coaches

Thank you to all of our parent and student volunteers who coach our rec teams! This program could not exist without your help, and we appreciate all of the time and energy you commit to coaching.

We will also be providing a more SSC specific coaches meeting at the beginning of the season, date TBD to go over tips for structuring your practices, as well as ideas for games and activities. If you do not have any soccer playing experience, don't worry! At this age, it is most important for players to get comfortable with a ball at their feet and have fun!
