2026 Fall Travel Soccer

Travel Program U10-U14 (Grades 3-8)

  • This is a more competitive atmosphere for those players looking for more. Girls and Boys teams are made up by skill level
  • Teams play against nearby town teams within the Central Mass Youth Soccer League (CMYSL)
  • Saturday games, times depend on age group
  • Practices are on a weeknight(s) TBD by coach for each team
  • Season typically run for 8 weeks

Travel Waiver: If you are not a resident of Holden but wish to participate in Holden Youth Soccer’s Travel Program, you must first register with HYS and then your resident town must complete a waiver allowing you participate with HYS. Per Mass Youth Soccer rules, the decision to sign the waiver resides with the resident town, not HYS. Any registration fee will be refunded to you if your town soccer program will not grant you a waiver.

2026 Fall Futures League

Holden Youth Soccer Futures League: Pre-K through 2nd Grade Program

  • Designed to introduce kids to the game of soccer using lots of fun activities and games
  • Pre-K DOB range is 9/1/21-8/31/22
  • Pre-K, K will play together as U6 and co-ed
  • Grade 1 and Grade 2 split into boys and girls teams
  • Season runs for 8 weeks
  • Sessions run for about an hour on weekend mornings at Davis Hill School
  • Sessions are split into approx. 30mins of age-based games/activities followed by a short small sided 4v4 scrimmage
  • Coaches are provided lesson plans for the season as well as 1:1 coach instruction before each session

2026 Fall Unified (inclusion w/ Spec Olympics)

o   Teams composed of players both with and without intellectual disabilities (ID) with minimal soccer rules modifications
o   All players of ages 12-18 across mainstream, autism spectrum, and any ID are welcome and should be capable of being an individual contributor to a team environment (i.e., without 1:1 support)
o   The program strives to provide meaningful social inclusion for all players and promotes an equal role for all despite different abilities
o   Practices/scrimmages held weekly to develop peer-to-peer friendships through the game of soccer
o   Additional opportunities
  • In the fall season, Unified players compete in the Special Olympics State Cup at the Governor’s Academy in Newbury. The event includes team bus ride, opening ceremonies, multiple games, and an awards ceremony.
  • Teams can participate in the Special Olympics Unified Fitness Challenge where partners train together on fitness goals and compete in United Through Sports World Virtual Youth Festival.
  • In 2021, a league team was formed to compete against other Massachusetts Unified teams. The league offers an additional commitment and challenge for interested players.
o   HYS is pioneering this unique operating model by introducing the Unified sports model into town youth sports

2026 Fall TOPSoccer (players with special needs)

The Holden Youth Soccer TOPSoccer Program is a program for children with players with physical, emotional or intellectual disabilities. Children who live in the Central Massachusetts area, and are between the ages of 5 and 14, are eligible to become TOPSoccer athletes

2026 Travel Evaluations - Summer

Hi Parents,
Holden Youth Soccer is hosting a player assessment event in order to help facilitate improved player placement for our U10, U12, and U14 travel teams in the fall season which is right around the corner.  
Players will play in a variety of small-sided games against different players to assess their relative position amongst their peers within the age group. This will be used in conjunction with coach evaluations and our player placement process to help inform placements in future seasons. 

Age Groups:
All U10, U12 and U14 players who are considering travel soccer in the Fall 2026 season. We will be hosting another assessment for the Spring 2027 season in the winter. 

U10 Session Times:
  • U10 Boys - Tuesday June 9th - 6:00 pm – 6:45 pm
  • U10 Boys - Monday June 29th - 7:00 pm – 7:45 pm
  • U10 Girls - Monday June 8th - 6:00 pm – 6:45 pm
  • U10 Girls - Tuesday June 30th - 7:00 pm – 7:45 pm
U12 Session Times:
  • U12 Boys - Tuesday Jun 9th - 7:00 pm –7:45 pm

We ask that parents and coaches not spectate adjacent to the fields and stay as far from the fields as possible. We want players to feel as calm as possible during the evaluation. 

If players could arrive 15 mins before the start of the evaluation it would be much appreciated. Players should come dressed to play and do NOT need to wear their HYS uniform.
