About Us

History

Danbury Youth Soccer Club started in 1977 as Danbury PAL Soccer and was incorporated as Danbury Youth Soccer Club, Inc. a non-profit, 501c3 in 2004.

DYSC is celebrating our 45th Anniversary of Serving the Youth of Danbury as one of the longest standing and best Clubs in the State with a rich tradition and history.  DYSC has an outstanding partnership with the Mayor, City Parks and Recreation, PAL and Danbury Public School officials that help us provide excellent soccer venues in the city to support our programs year round for outdoor and indoor futsal.

DYSC provides the highest level of coaching and a uniform approach to player development.  As each player moves through the program they are placed at the appropriate level to reach their potential.  Our collective staff is comprised of coaches with active or past experience at the College level, the High School, CJSA Olympic Development Program, CJSA coaching Education, US Soccer Academy, regional teams, Elite, Premier and travel.  All of our coaches are US Soccer Federation Certified and work together as a collective group to stay informed and up to date to all US Soccer federation updates and licensing requirements. DYSC has now partnered with AC CT, a USL2 franchise that provides players a seamless path from DYSC Recreational Soccer to CJSA travel to premier to EDP State League and the EDP New England National League and the USL Academy and USL 2.

Governing Bodies

The DYSC program is governed by the DYSC Board of Directors as outlined in its By-Laws.  DYSC is also a member of and operates under the guidelines of the following:

  • US EDP (United States Elite Development Program)
  • USYSO (United States Youth Soccer Organization)
  • USSF (United States Soccer Federation), which is a member of
  • FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association), which is the governing body for soccer in the United States and the World.

These soccer organizations follow the “Laws of the Game” (go to www.fifa.com) as defined by FIFA, which are modified for the younger ages.
