AUBURN THUNDER RETURN TO PRACTICE / GAMES (Updated August 6, 2021Return to Play Phase 5: August 11, 2020
Spectators, Coaches and Players who are positive for COVID are not permitted to attend games or practices.
Spectators, Coaches and Players showing signs of Infectious Disease are requested to stay home.
Spectators are encouraged to maintain distancing during arrival, competition, and departure from event.
Spectators should never enter the field of play or team area at any time.
HOME spectators should be seated on the same side as the HOME team.
AWAY spectators should be seated on the same side as the AWAY team.
Unvaccinated spectators are encouraged to wear face coverings.
Practice good general hygiene and bring personal hand sanitizer for personal use.
Players are encouraged to not share water, food, snacks, or anything else on the sidelines.
Coaches will set cones for players to use to keep soccer gear and take water breaks distanced from other players.
All team meetings will be held outdoors. If there is no option for the meeting to be held outdoors, indoor meetings will require all participants to be masked and distanced for the entire meeting.
TESTING POSITIVE FOR COVID
Please follow all CDC, State of Alabama and Auburn City Guidelines regarding COVID.
Testing Positive for COVID 19 requires you to notify the COVID Director immediately at [email protected]
Return to play at Auburn Thunder will be allowed once the player has completed the appropriate quarantine requirement.
EXPOSURE TO SOMEONE WITH COVID
- Auburn Thunder is no longer responsible for contact tracing due to exposure to COVID19.
QUESTION & ANSWER:
Question: My child had close contact exposure at school (church, inside activity, immediate family member, etc.) to a person with COVID19. Can they come to practices or games?
Answer: If your child has been required to quarantine because of exposure, they may return to games and practices the same day they are allowed to return to school. (Please notify the COVID Director immediately to let them know the date of return, [email protected])
Answers: The team was practicing outside and kept appropriate distance at water breaks, etc.
Answer: Parents are asked to watch for signs/symptoms of possible infection. If the player is symptom free, they may continue with practices and games.
Answer: The positive player/coach will return once they have completed the appropriate quarantine requirements.
The team had a meeting inside with masks. (Thunder Teams are encouraged to only meet outside beginning August 9, 2021. If there is no other option than to meet inside. Everyone must be masked for the entire meeting and distanced. No exceptions)
Answer: If the players are masked and distanced, the team may return to play as usual. The COVID positive player may return after completing the CDC recommended quarantine. The other players should watch for the onset of illness.
