Palos Verdes Mavericks Pop Warner Football would like to emphasize that tackle football is a substantial commitment starting on August 1st and continuing until November or December. We require all players to attend and be on time to all practices, games and required functions. Regular attendance in compliance with our attendance policy is necessary to prepare players for the rigors of a full season of tackle football.  
MANDATORY PRACTICE
Practices begin on August 1st and there are typically 5 practices for 2.5 hours each through  Labor Day.  The first 2 weeks are particularly critical as each player is required to meet specific conditioning and practice with pads requirements before they can participate in contact drills, scrimmages and games.
ATTENDANCE POLICY

Palos Verdes Youth Football and Cheer has an established vacation policy:

1. Attendance at August practice is MANDATORY, unless excused in writing by both the team head coach and the tackle football director.  
   
   
2.  Unexcused absences at practice in excess of three shall result in the player being ineligible for the next game and may result in the player being suspended from additional games or for the duration of the season.  
   
   

3. Attendance at football games is MANDATORY. Unexcused absences from any game may result in the player being suspended from additional games or for the duration of the season.  

4. Excused absences include contagious illness, emergencies and death in the family, and academic school functions. Please provide notice to the head coach ASAP in the event of a foreseeable excused absence.  Note: Cotillion is NOT an academic school-sponsored event.

MINIMUM PLAY REQUIREMENTS:

POP WARNER is a Minimum Play Rule organization. Every player is guaranteed a minimum amount of game time play respective to their team size.  The minimum tackle participant play, per game, is based on the eligible players at the time of certification of the team prior to the start of the game and is as follows:

10u-14u Divisions:
16-25 players - 10 plays
26-30 players - 8 plays
31-35 players - 6 plays
