Palos Verdes Mavericks is a non-profit organization that relies on 100% volunteers. We have many roles that you can be nvolved within your squad, association, or league level.
For the 2025 season, each family will be required to volunteer in order to assist Mavericks with association (and / or league) level. Each family will be obligated to provide a check as a deposit for their commitment to volunteer during the season. The amount of required volunteer shifts per family will be determined each season by the Board of Directors. For the 2025 fall season, each family will be required to provide a volunteer deposit check in the amount of $150.00 per child. Should you choose to volunteer, you will be required to work one association level volunteer shift for each deposit check provided in order to receive a refund of your deposit check(s).
All deposit checks should be made out to Palos Verdes Youth Football & Cheer, Inc. and will be collected at the Mandatory Cheer Parents Meeting in May 2025. No additional deposit days will be arranged, but coaches and team managers will be contacted to collect any outstanding deposit checks.
Your Cheer Squad Volunteers (Vary by Squad) will NOT count towards to fulfill Family Volunteer Commitment Requirements may include the following.

- · Homecoming Candy Leis
- · So-Fi Championship Lunch
- · SCC Competition Lunch

- · Team End of year Party Coordinator
- · Team Fundraiser Coordinator
Your Association (Mavericks) Volunteers
All parents are expected to work at least one Association volunteer shift, as listed below, per registered child in the program. The established schedules will vary per season, as decided by the board, and made available prior to the start of each season. Volunteer duties/shifts to fulfill volunteer commitment requirements available to Cheer parents may include the following:
- § Mavericks Snack Shack Volunteers on Home Game Day
- § Mavericks Merchandise Volunteers on Home Game Day
- § Decorations and Clean up on Home Game Day
- § So-Fi Championship on site Volunteers
- § Mavericks Opening Day Volunteers
- § Homecoming Day Volunteers
- § Mavericks end of season Banquet Volunteer
- § Cheer Competition on site volunteers (2 volunteers minimum per squad)
NOTE: Members of the Mavericks Board, team coaches, and team volunteers with field badges will be deemed to have met their volunteer duties without the need to sign up for a shift.
SHIFT SIGNUPS:
Upon completion of the final game schedule, volunteer shifts will be added to SignUpGenius and will be accessible utilizing the link to be provided to all email addresses provided at registration.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- Ø Volunteers will be required to sign up for their volunteer shift(s) using the SignUpGenius site (link will be posted ASAP via email).
- Ø Upon signing up for your shift(s), it will be your responsibility to ensure that you show up on the scheduled date and time. An e-mail notification will be sent from SignUpGenius 2 days prior to the start of your shift as a reminder.
- Ø No shifts can be canceled within 72 hours of the beginning of the start of the shift. The success of our volunteer program depends on our having the required amount of volunteers for each shift.
- Ø Failure to show up for your shift at the time you signed up for will result in forfeit of your deposit and you may not reschedule your shift!
- Ø All volunteers must sign in the beginig of the each shift on site.
- Ø It is understood that all shifts must be complete prior to the end of the season in order to have your deposit check returned.
- Ø Any person that has not completed their required shift(s) will have their deposit(s) cashed at the end of the season. If your check does not clear, a balance will be added to your account and it must be paid in full in order to register your child for any future season.
- Ø If you do complete your shifts, deposits can be picked up on the last day of games.
- Ø Any deposit checks to be returned for completing shifts that are not picked up by the last day of games will be shredded.
