Junior Umpire Program
Who
Teens between the ages of 13-18
Who like baseball and Softball and is knowledgeable & enthusiastic about the game
Who can always remain calm and rational
Who is looking to earn some cash or use time towards community service hours by umpiring spring and/or fall games for South Kingstown Little League
No Previous umpire experience is needed
Being a Junior Umpire could lead to other Umpire opportunities in other leagues and Umpire Associations.
Requirements
Parent/Guardian must complete Junior Umpire Information Form
Must attend at least one SKLL Little League Umpire Training
- Free to all participants
- Training will take place on Saturday April 6th at 1PM at Tuckertown Fields
- Take online training.
Must wear uniform hat and shirt while on the field (will be provided)
Protective gear and supplies will be provided, if you do not have your own
Knowledge of Little League Rules and Local Rules (this will be provided)
Structure
| 13 & Up | Minors Baseball (AAA)
Minors Softball | $25 /game or 2 hours
of community service |
| 14 & Up | Majors Baseball
Majors Softball | $25 /game or 2 hours
of community service |
All Minors Divisions can umpire behind the plate or from behind the pitcher calling balls and strikes
All Majors divisions will be a base umpire and paired with an adult umpire.
Major games are typically played during the week starting at 5:30
Minor Division games are played during the week starting a 5:00 and Saturdays at 3:00
