Richmond Little League's Minors Division is for Little League Age 9 and 10 and, in some cases, Little League Age 11 players. Eligible Birthdays for Minors registration is 9/1/2014-8/31/2016
Some of the rules in this division are modified to increase the pace of play, help develop pitchers and catchers and teach kids the fundamentals of the game. Players work to develop their skills at many different positions in the field, including pitcher.
Minors games are played at Byrd Park on the 46/60 fields.
Before the regular season starts, Minor teams practice at least twice a week (usually once during the week and once on weekends). After the regular season starts, Minors teams usually have two games per week (one during the week and one on the weekend). Minors teams may also conduct practices in between games. Although scores are tallied and games are counted as wins or losses, regular season standings are not kept and have no bearing on the postseason tournament. At the end of the regular season, there is a pool-format playoff tournament.
If you have a player that is not age eligible for Minors, but you want to request to "play up", you should register for your age eligble division and send a play up request to the Minors Commissioner.
