Richmond Little League

T-Ball

Tee Ball is the entry level of play for Little League aged 5 and 6 year olds (which consists of older 4 year olds, 5 year olds, and younger 6 year olds). The ball is hit from a stationary tee although coaches may pitch underhanded to batters toward the end of the season. The structure of Tee Ball is very laid-back and is geared to ensure that all kids have a fun first experience with team baseball. There is also plenty of basic instruction.

Tee Ball is played on the Tee Ball field which is located near the tennis courts at the southeast corner of the Byrd Park baseball fields.  Teams usually have a practice or scrimmage one night each week from approximately 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. The night varies from week to week.  Games are played each Saturday between 9:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.  Games last one hour.  Score is not kept in Tee Ball.  Instruction and teamwork are emphasized throughout the season along with lots of snacks and smiles after the game.
