MANDATORY COACH REQUIREMENTS - VERY IMPORTANT 

To be a volunteer coach/assistant for BHYSL, there are a few requirements that must be met prior to being added to a team's roster. 

Once you sign up as a coach/assistant, the BHYSL office will create a profile for you in the GotSport system (which is integrated with MSYSA), and will notify you when your account is set up.

The 3 requirements that are required by MSYSA to be listed as a coach on a roster are as follows:

1) You must pass a background check through GotSport. MYSYSA is not able to use any other background checks for any other affiliations for this requirement. There is a $7.50 charge, which the league covers by issuing a voucher code for you to enter during the checkout process. This requirement takes about 5 minutes and will take 2-3 days to process once you complete the form.

2) You must take the CDS Heads Up Concussion Training. This is a free online course and should take about 20 minutes. 

3) You must take the SafeSport Training. This is a free online course and should take between 90 mintues to 2 hours.

Returning Coaches - If you are a returning coach, you can check your risk management card to see when your background check expires by following the instructions below on How To Access Your Risk Management Card. You can also verify your other requirements (Heads Up Concussion and Safe Sport Trainings) in the same area. If any of these 3 requirements say Incomplete or Required, you must complete them before being added to a roster. You may complete the requirements by clicking where it says Expired or Incomplete. If you have already completed the SafeSport Training in the past and it says Required or Incomplete, you must complete it every year. If it says expired, click the button. In the two years following taking the main course, you will only need to complete a refresher course (this is a much shorter course). Be sure to do them in order, as once you complete Refresher 2, you will have to start over the following year with the main course. If you have done the main course the year before, please select Refresher 1 for this year. If you did Refresher 1 last year, please select Refresher 2.
