Bloomfield Soccer Team Formation Process
Our team formation process follows the MSYSA (Michigan State Youth Soccer Association) guidelines for Recreational Soccer Organizations team formation policy and is in the best interest of our players. This includes our minimum and maximum roster sizes.

Team assignment is entirely at the discretion of the BHYSL. The league may make roster  adjustments prior to the season in order to optimize the recreational environment for all participants.

FALL TEAM PLACEMENT
Once FALL registration is closed, all registered players are placed on teams IN THE ORDER OF REGISTRATION DATE, based on school attended, until max roster size limits have been met. Once a roster is full for a specific school, if there are enough players, then a 2nd team will be formed for that school.  If necessary, players from different schools, that are in close proximity, will be combined to form teams when there are not enough on their own to form a full team for one school.  We do our best to group at least 2-3 players from the same school on teams with mixed rosters.

SPRING TEAM PLACEMENT
Once SPRING registration is closed, RETURNING players from the Fall season will be placed on the same team that they were on in the Fall, as this is a continuation of the soccer year. Once all returning players have been placed, we follow the same process as in the Fall, and will fill remaining roster spots with players from same schools, in the order of registration date.  If necessary,  players from different schools, that are in close proximity, will be combined to form teams when there are not enough on their own to form a full team for one school.  We do our best to group at least 2-3 players from the same school on teams with mixed rosters.

Kindergarten & 1st Grade (4v4, no GK) Roster max 8 players
2nd- 4th Grade (7v7) Roster max 12 players
5th & 6th Grade (9v9) Roster max 16
7th & 8th Grade (11v11) Roster max 22 players

Spring Soccer Season
April 15th - June 4th (June 9 & 10 could be used for make up games)
