Sky River Soccer Club
Founded in 1974, Sky River Soccer is an all-volunteer, non-profit (501-c3 tax status) organization dedicated to developing the sport of soccer in the Sky River Valley (serving primarily the populations of the Monroe and Sultan school districts). We are an affiliate of North County Youth Soccer Association and Washington Youth Soccer.
Our mission is to develop the sport of soccer in the Sky River Valley and to encourage players to have the skills and passion to play the game throughout their lives. To achieve these goals we will do the following:
* Operate the club according to the rules and policies of the Club, NCYSA, WYS, and the USYSA.
* Provide a safe and fun environment for any child that wishes to play the game.
* Offer coach, player, and referee training clinics.
* Promote participation in competitive select teams.
Players will gain self esteem, learn the value of teamwork and fair play, and acquire respect for the laws of the game, the coaches, their teammates, and the referees.
Fields (see Fields for directions):
* Fairfield County Park, Monroe
* Osprey Park, Sultan
* Lake Tye Park, Monroe
Recreational Teams - Fall League:
Practices start in late July/early August (age dependent) with games occurring the weekend after Labor Day in September through mid-November. Recreational Teams - Spring League:
Practices start in early April and the six game season runs through May. U5, U6, U7 teams play in-house and may be COED. The U8-U14 teams will play other NCYSA teams. Games on Saturdays.
Select Teams:
Sky River does not currently offer a Select program. See the Select Play section to find nearby programs that offer Select play.
Operations:
Sky River Soccer has an executive board composed of nine elected officials who administer the operations of the club. All board members are volunteers who care about the growth of soccer in this area. They are elected at different intervals to ensure equal opportunities for all club members to participate in keeping the club operational. A membership meeting is held the second Monday of each month to conduct club business (7:00 PM at VIP cabin Monroe Fairgrounds). All parents, coaches, and current members of the Sky River Soccer Club are invited and encouraged to attend this meeting. By attending, you ensure the best soccer program possible.
