Youth Development

What is the Youth Development Program?

The Youth Development (YD) Program is an entry level program for any players in grades K-2 that want to learn more about the game of soccer. The program's focus is on FUN, Technical skill development and confidence building in order to prepare them for playing in larger groups. The program is managed by our Youth Development Director, Coach Branko Obrenovic. 

What are the key dates and times for the program?


General Season Information

FALL Information: Season typically starts Week of Labor Day. Notices will go out when we confirm
SPRING Information: Season typically starts the week after Cromwell Schools Spring break in early/mid April. Notices will go out when we confirm.

Program Season length : Runs for 7 weeks

U6 & U7 Coach Branko - [email protected] with parent volunteers
U6 Practice: Thursdays @ 5PM @ WIS starting week 1
U7 Practice: Thursdays @ 6PM @ WIS starting week 1

U8G&B Volunteer Coaches with Guidance from Coach Branko
Practice: Tues & Thursdays @ 6PM @ WIS starting week1

U6/7/8 
Small Sided Games @ WIS starting Saturday of week 1

U6 Saturdays @ 9AM at WIS - Field 1
U7 Saturdays @ 10AM at WIS - Field 1
U8 Saturdays @ 11AM at WIS - Field 1
U8 can also have friendlies with other towns a coaches discretion. Calendar will be sent at start of season.

Where is the program run?

The Youth Development Program is conducted at WIS Soccer fields, weather permitting

Uniforms

Players will receive a colored pinney to wear at practices and games. The club will have size 3 balls for all players 

What gear do players need?

They will need to bring, cleats, shin guards, and a water bottle to each session. On colder days they may want to wear light gloves and base layers.


VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Are you interested in becoming a youth soccer coach? CCSC is looking for interested parents to help coach the Youth Development Program. .

For the K & 1st Grade programs, Volunteer Asst. Coaches help the YDP director run the practice drills. 
For the 2nd Graders, The YD Director mentors new Parent Coaches.

The Club provides curriculum and informational clinics on various coaching topics to all as well as mentoring to help coaches get started.
Without these volunteers... there is no soccer program!
