Volunteer Instructions

Please use your legal name in your SSC account and when doing the trainings

First sign up as a volunteer in your SSC account – Families can have one account

·       Log into your account

·       Click on volunteer tab on the left

·       Choose position you are volunteering for

·       Choose yourself or sign up new user

·       Complete the registration questions and submit

Action Required by all Volunteers

1.       Risk Assessment (aka Background Check) – First log into your SSC account, click on volunteer tab. Then click on the box on the left of risk assessment and click on renew & update. You will need to verify your information and put in your SSN. Click submit. If you are a returning volunteer, check your expiration date and renew if needed.

2.       Upload a photo of yourself in your SSC account

3.       SafeSport Training – click on your volunteer tab and click on box to left of SafeSport. Then click on renew and update. It’s best to use the same email for both SSC and SafeSport. This is a fixed 4 year training cycle: Core, Refresher 1, Refresher 2, Refresher 3, repeat.

a.       Core Training – takes approximately 90 minutes

b.       Refresher Courses – take approximately 20 minutes. You only need to take one refresher course per calendar year

c.       All SafeSport certificates must have a 2023 date to be valid

d.       If you have completed SafeSport training for another organization then all you need to do is upload your 2023 certificate in your volunteer tab
