Below is information regarding the tryout process on Saturday, July 25th, at Curtiss Park.

- U12 Girls 10:30am
- U13 Girls 10:30am
- U15 Boys 12:00pm
- U15 Girls 1:30pm
Health Check: Please conduct a health-check of your player before arriving at the field for tryouts. If your player is experiencing symptoms or there are other reasons consistent with the SSC Return to Play Document, CJSA requirements or other State rules and regulations that your son/daughter should not play, please notify us the day of the tryout via e-mail at [email protected]. A copy of the attached COVID waiver MUST be signed & brought to the tryout. More information on our return to play guidelines can be found here.
Arrival & Face Coverings: Please arrive for your tryout 20 minutes before the scheduled start and check in at the pavilion. All players should have all of their gear on, bring along their own ball/water/sanitizer, and should not dress at the field. All players and parents should wear appropriate face coverings while registering at the Curtiss Pavilion and players should remain masked until their tryout begins. The field will be marked with individual grids for each player. After registration, they should warm-up and remain in their gridded area until the tryout begins. Water/drinks and any other belongings shall remain in the individual gridded area until the tryout is complete.
What to wear: All players are asked to wear numbered jerseys to the tryouts. Players with last names A-L are asked to wear light colors (including white or yellow) and players with last names M-Z are asked to wear dark (including blue/black). Simsbury jerseys with numbers are OK. U9 players will be provided with pinnies on check-in. Older players are also asked to bring an alternate jersey to assist in forming teams/groups. Typically, we use pinnies for tryouts. Because of COVID-19 concerns, if we use pinnies, none will be reused during the entire tryout process and a bag will be provided for any pinnies after use.
Tryouts: Tryouts will consistent of a mix of activities lasting approximately 75 minutes. Players will be evaluated by a group of experienced coaches. We anticipate team formation e-mails will be sent to families within a few days of the tryouts.
Parents: Parents are, as always, requested to move away from the fields and pavilion during the tryout to avoid pressuring players at tryouts and to avoid congregating. Any parents that remain at Curtiss are asked to maintain both masking and social distancing while also remaining distanced from the fields. Our ability to continue to use the fields is dependent on your cooperation with these requirements.
