LAUREL LITTLE LEAGUE Maryland District 4

Umpires & Scorekeeping

Umpires

Seniors, Juniors, Intermediate, Majors, AAA and AA:
All games are umpired by trained Volunteer umpires.  Junior Umpires occasionally serve as umpires under the supervision of a responsible on-site adult.

T-Ball, A (Coach Pitch):
All games are parent umpired.

Junior Umpires

The Junior Umpire program is open to young adults age 13 and older.  The Junior Umpires are trained and equipped and serve under the supervision of an on-site game official (usually a team manager or parent).  These are just some of the benefits of being a Junior Umpire for LLL:

  • Community service hours (2 hours per game)
  • Free training
  • Join the fun and be a part of the exciting group of young leaders in the community

Please contact us if you're interested in joining our program by writing us at  [email protected].

Scorekeeping

Paper Scorekeeping:
All games are scored by parent volunteers.  The home team keeps the official scorebook and pitch count records of both teams.  The home team manager reports the pitch counts in the Pitch Count Database.  Training classes will be provided before the spring season begins.

Electronic Scorekeeping:
Tablet scoring has become popular in recent years and for good reason.  The advanced stats benefit the coaches with player development and team management along with providing parents with live game status streaming.  Training classes for using the GameChanger application on iPads/Android devices will be provided before the spring season begins.

Please contact us if you're interested in score keeping for one of our teams [email protected].
